First Fruit and Alms Christian Schools and Daycares is a non-profit corporation founded in 2025 to meet the growing need for high-quality childcare in Ontario. As the Master Franchisor of Angelic Treasures Christian Daycare, we are committed to building centers where families from all walks of life feel welcomed, supported, and truly heard.
Our mission is to create nurturing environments that foster love, belonging, and growth—places where both families and staff can thrive together. We believe that by cultivating a caring atmosphere, we can make a lasting difference in the lives of children and the communities we serve.
At First Fruit & Alms, we strive to give our very best, especially in times when many face challenges of their own. By partnering with community organizations across each region, we ensure families have access to vital resources and support. In turn, this allows us to provide children with the strongest foundation possible—a joyful and faith-centered start to life.
Meet our Board of Directors
Katryn Murray – President
Katryn Murray has devoted more than 21 years to advancing the field of early childhood education. A graduate of Sheridan College and a Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE), she began her career supervising centers in the Halton Region, where she collaborated with ROCK to provide specialized support for children with diverse needs.
Committed to the principle that every child deserves equitable opportunities, Katryn has consistently championed inclusion, empathy, and family-centered care. She was the first supervisor in Halton Region to initiate an inclusion workshop for parents, recognizing that meaningful support in the classroom begins with strong family engagement.
Her career later brought her back to Mississauga, where she successfully supervised a center for over a decade. Building on her expertise in child development and program innovation, Katryn transitioned into the role of Program and Training Director. In this capacity, she has guided supervisory teams and centers in navigating the evolving landscape of early childhood education, with a focus on program development, parent workshops, and staff training.
Katryn’s work is firmly grounded in the pedagogical frameworks of How Does Learning Happen? and the ELECT document. She is a strong advocate for play-based learning, believing that meaningful experiences are created through hands-on exploration—often embracing the idea that the messier the activity, the richer the learning.

Just as the First Fruits offering represented the first and best of one's harvest given in gratitude to God, we dedicate our resources to serve communities in need—giving not out of abundance, but out of conviction. And like Alms, which call us to compassion for the poor and marginalized, we actively pursue justice and mercy through acts of love and support.
